BMW iCAN - CANbus Stock Socket Rewire Harness - by Powerlet™

By-pass the stock CANbus wiring harness (socket not included*) to use standard battery chargers and/or power heated clothing with this 15 amp harness from Powerlet™. Choose from three available harness lengths - 12", 36" and 48".

With a Powerlet iCAN, you can use a standard battery charger to maintain your battery. You can also power heated clothing up to 180 Watts. This is particularly useful if you have a 2005-06 BMW R1200GS manufactured between start of production and Aug. 2006. At that time, BMW was installing 5 amp harnesses. This prevented the use of many heated vests and jacket liners - very inconvenient! The stock BMW socket is not replaced on these early models but is re-wired with this Powerlet harness.

Even though later model BMWs power sockets have a 10 amp capacity, they are wired to shut down completely when the bike's turned off. This too is inconvenient for those who'd like to use their battery charger through the outlet like they did on pre-CANbus bikes. With this harness you can use your standard battery charger the same way you did on your older BMW - through the outlet.
