The oil cooler on the R1200RT is made of aluminium and is unprotected. The tiny radiator fins can be bent by objects or even by curious fingers. This protector is made of aluminium and is effective not only against stones, but also against the countless insects which otherwise become embedded in the oil cooler. The anodized aluminium screen is lightweight and looks like it belongs on the RT.

Note: Installation is with "one screw", but first, the fairings must be removed which is a larger task.
