Battery Charger - BMW CAN Bus Battery Charger - AGM Batteries - by BMW
This
BMW Motorrad maintenance charger was designed specifically to allow you
to charge your bike through it's power outlet. It's made to charge your Absorbed
Glass Mat (AGM) battery while it's installed in your motorcycle using this
procedure*:
Works on all BMW CAN Bus bikes, which consist of most 2005-later models
(Not K1200LT).
Note:
If you have a BMW K1600GT or K1600GTL, you can find the correct
charger below under "Recommended Items."
- Start by turning your bike's key "on."
- Next, plug the charger into the accessory socket (power outlet) on your bike.
- Then plug the charger into 120 Volt AC power outlet.
- Finally, turn the bike key to "off."
The charger communicates with the CAN bus system on your
motorcycle and the system allows the battery to charge where normally the
accesssory socket would not function.
*Notes: Failure to follow this procedure will
result in the your battery not being charged and your battery charger overheating.*
This unit
can also safely charge FLA, and Gel batteries if they've been removed from
your bike.
