Battery Charger - BMW K1600GT K1600GTL Motorcycle - by BMW
This
BMW Motorrad maintenance charger was designed specifically to allow you
to charge your 2011-later BMW K1600GT or K1600GTL through it's power outlet. It's made to charge your Absorbed
Glass Mat (AGM) battery while it's installed in your motorcycle using this
procedure*:
Find a charger for other BMW CAN-Bus equipped bikes below under "Recommended Items."
- Start by turning your bike's key "on."
- Next, plug the charger into the accessory socket (power outlet) on your bike.
- Then plug the charger into 120 Volt AC power outlet.
- Finally, turn the bike key to "off."
The charger communicates with the CAN bus system on your
motorcycle and the system allows the battery to charge where normally the
accesssory socket would not function.
*Note that failure to follow this procedure will result
in the your battery not being charged and your battery charger overheating.*
