Packing Update
So, it is crunch time and Doug and I are both at different degrees of readiness. Doug's big problem is his comm system is picking up interference from his engine/alternator/etc. Each time he starts his engine he hears annoying sounds in his headset. He will experiment with filters tomorrow.

Since this is a blog about some of the challenges related around cancer on the trip let me share some of mine. Besides the cancer I have sleep apnea. I use a nasal CPAP to sleep. Since I will be camping I have a battery driven CPAP. Great except when not in use it needs to be charged. I decided to take a second CPAP with me. Both of the machines together are smaller than my old CPAPs. Still it is another packing challenge. Most motorcycle cases leak so I need to use drybags to protect the electronics. In addition to the CPAPs I am carrying a computer, camera, tripod, and satellite phone. All this electronic stuff takes space and must be secure during breaks. I am still working on how to do this.

Another medical item is a letter from my oncologist. I will be carrying Percocet, oxycodone, Ambien, and other medications including oral chemotherapy (Xoloda). Going into Canada and returning to the USA might be a challenge without the letter.

Tomorrow morning at 8:40am I will be interviewed on a Sacramento radio station. They said to be prepared for about 3 minutes. It is hardly worth the ride to Sacramento during rush hour but I am curious to see the radio studio. It might even be fun.
