BMW Bikes All Tied Up!
Don't find yourself in a bind; watch the tie down instructional video!
You would normally love to ride your bike to your destination, but every once in a while you have to rely on your motorcycle trailer for that long trip that requires you to ditch the saddle until you arrive at the next leg of your journey.
If you are a first time BMW motorcycle owner, or have never trailered your BMW bike before, do you know how to secure it properly? BMW motorcycles are equipped with Telelever Front Suspension, which means that they require a bit different approach to tying them down for transportation, compared to other bikes.
However, when done properly, preparing your BMW motorcycle for transport is a snap and won't leave you feeling all tied up!

Linda rides with the women's motorcycle group, TheChrome Divas, and when she isn't planning a long motorcycle trip across the country, she often commutes to work. In preparation for her upcoming 5,000 mile summer ride, she found her favorite Olympia motorcycle apparel at our shop. Lock Down!
So you have a brand new motorcycle helmet? ...but will it protect you when you need it to perform? Houston, We Have a Problem...
...perhaps one of the most famous quotes and overused cliche's of our time, but that's exactly how you felt stranded on your R1200GS motorcycle in the middle of nowhere, with a flat tire and an outdated, sun-faded map. And now you're thinking, hmmm, maybe the BMW GPS option was a good idea after all.
Back at the hotel room, 10 long hours later (you were only 30 miles away), you decide to log on to A&S BMW Motorcycles' website and watch the instructional video for the BMW Navigator III. You quickly realize that you would have had an updated map to get you to your destination, and despite the lack of cell phone service at the time, the system's integrated Bluetooth technology would have still allowed you to communicate with the others from your group just a short distance ahead, alerting them of your flat tire situation. Plus, you could have been listening to music and logging your travel route, all hands free. It would have been great to carry around the BMW Navigator III GPS in your rental car as well.
And speaking of flat tires, you wish you had also watched the Tire Plugger video and bought a travel sized Tire Pocket Plugger Kit to repair that flat tire when road service was not an option. Thank goodness for Billy Jo Bob passing by with his horse trailer a couple hours ago. ALERT- Health Check!
You go to the doctor for regular health check ups, but do you give your motorcycle the same attention?
It may be tempting to simply hop on your motorcycle much the same as you would simply hop in your car--taking for granted that everything is in working order. However, a mechanical problem with your motorcycle during a ride can mean big trouble. Going through a basic pre-ride check list can help spot issues before they become a problem on the road and will increase your confidence and safety on any ride, as well as improve the overall health of your motorcycle.
In the following video, Maggy Mini from the Gold Country Riders, a local chapter of the Women on Wheels Organization, demonstrates what you should look for during a pre-ride checklist to ensure the best health for both you and your bike on the road.
