Ensuring that your motorcycle
suit fits properly is crucial for many reasons.
If it pinches or is too tight, it will distract from
your ability to concentrate on the road. The same is
true for flapping and fluttering.
Another important issue
is to make sure that your pants and jackets
fit well - jacket sleeves and trouser legs must not
ride up. This is another important aspect as regards
weather protection and safety.
For this reason, all
our BMW suits are cut in a motorcycle-specific
style and feature a multitude of different adjusters,
expanding pleats and other well-planned details.
But the initial specification
of your size is the most essential aspect of
insuring that the suit you order fits you "like
a glove." More than 40 sizes are available to
accommodate virtually every figure. Be sure to measure
yourself exactly. The following section contains precise
information for doing just that.
It would be best to
ask someone else to do the actual measuring.
Stand relaxed with your arms at your sides. Keep the
tape measure snug against your body and be sure to
keep it horizontal when passing it around your body.
 Height:
Stand barefoot against a door frame. Place a book flat
on your head and then mark and measure it's position.
 Chest:
This is taken over a shirt or light sweater. The tape
is passed under the arms and around the widest point
of the chest and shoulder blades.
 Waist:
This is taken around the shirt and not the waistband
of the pants. Please ensure that you maintain a natural
posture. Do not draw in your stomach. Take the measurement
as loosely as you want your trouser fit to be.
 Hips:
This is taken around the pants at the widest point, measuring
all the way around the body.
 Outseam:
This is measured on the outside of the leg, from the
waistband to the sole of the foot.
 Inseam:
This is measured from the inside of the leg - from the
crotch to the sole of the foot.
 Gloves:
BMW Gloves are measured in inches, not small, medium
and large. For example, the sizes are 6"-6.5" through
12"-12.5". To get a proper fit, measure your
palm circumference around the knuckle area without
the thumb. If the measurement is, for example, 9 ¾ go
up to the next size range. For the best fit, visit
your BMW Motorcycle Dealer.
 Boots:
BMW boots for the most part can be sized according to
your current shoe size. Use the chart below to order
the proper size. For the bet fit, visit your BMW Motorcycle
Dealer.
